The Park Vista Hotel located in Gatlinburg TN is a structurally beautiful hotel. There are glass elevators that are situated facing the lobby on one side and the outdoors on the other. The rooms are nicely appointed with plenty of space. Each room has a microwave and mini fridge as a matter of convenience. All the rooms have private baths and sitting areas with tables to eat on. This full service hotel has a spiraling fifteen story atrium in the center of the building. There is a full service restaurant located on premises and a bar and grill eatery as well. There is a beautiful ballroom on property that hosts a wealth of weddings and other events.
This hotel is one of the nicest Gatlinburg hotels. There is a multi level indoor pool, and an outdoor “fort” area for the kids to romp around in – which quickly becomes a favorite among would-be mountaineers on your trip. The Gatlinburg trolley service stops right at the front door and takes guest to most of the area attractions, which can be optimal to driving yourself.
There are many things to do and see in Gatlinburg for every member of the family. There are museums, theme parks, great shopping and restaurants in the Gatlinburg area. For the ski enthusiast there is the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Resort that also has an amusement park. So if some members of the family prefer not to ski they can spend the day hanging out at the amusement park. There are a few must sees when in the Gatlinburg area. The Ripley’s Aquarium is a must see, as is the Ripley’s Believe it Or Not Museum, and of course a trip to Gatlinburg is not complete without at least one day spent at the Great Smokey Mountains National Park. The Park is the jewel of the Smokey Mountains. There are day trips for hiking, backpacking and horseback riding. There is also white water rafting trips that leave out of nearby Pigeon Forge daily. Also in nearby Pigeon Forge is Dollywood Theme Park and Dollywood Water Park, both a great and exciting time.
Both Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge host seasonal events and festivals. The areas are rich with mountain folks, music, delicious cuisine and cultural experiences. Many people are drawn to these festivals in Gatlinburg and neighboring Pigeon Forge for the beautiful, one-of-a-kind handicrafts that are offered for sale during this time by area artisans and craftsmen. There is a two month long harvest festival held in Gatlinburg from September 1st through October 31st, and lots of other season attractions aimed at Thanksgiving and Christmas – which is why many families choose to spend the holidays (or at least a week or two) in this beautiful location. Christmas in Gatlinburg is magical and sure to be a memory-maker.
